I came close the first time, but nothing after that. I built off your strategy and was able to take him down with Baa'lial 212 Creeping Tentacle 121 and SoD 122. I did get a lucky crit with CT on the second pet though. Good luck to anyone without Nyalotha pets. (edited)

Multiple failures. Cauldron does not live past Bassalt, or kills Bassalt and dies quickly to the last pet.
