Elemental level pets need more HP.

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
Level 6+
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

Tweaked tdScript to elimate unneccessary steps or booleans.
Works just as well and doesn't result in Tero dying or needlessly passing rounds.
The most damage your lvl pet should take is 240 damage from Tidal Wave barring any weaknesses or crits so you can adjust your lvl cap based on that info.

Keep in mind my Tero is H/P and my Ikky is P/S. YMMV

I start with my level pet bcz the first action doesn't attack. I also used a lvl 5 pet with 368 hps and it never took a hit. The rest of the suggested action worked perfectly without needing to bring my lvl pet back in.

This also work with a Waterfly as the first pet. Alpha Strike and Dodge for Hawk Eye, Alpha Strike and Healing Stream (when Sheldon dives), One Alpha Strike on Shelby, then switch to level pet, then Ikky and finish it off. Works every time for me so far.

Hiigara#2650

i got only 200 xp on my lvl pet from this pet master, so its not worth it lvling anymore with him

CircleA wrote on 2019-09-22 15:33:51

Now that we’re back from that lovvvely commercial break….

With the nerfing of the pet xp, you can completely ignore everything after when Shlby comes in. Terorclaw Hatchling and solo this. Throw a Hawk Eye when possible and just Alpha Strike the rest of the time.

Dougula#1873

wrote on 2018-11-13 20:42:12

What's the purpose of keeping the Teroclaw in if Shelpy gets below 600 HP? If you're swapping in your level pet anyway wouldn't the net result be the same if ya just swapped once below the 600 HP threshold?

JestersTear

wrote on 2019-01-05 22:36:16

There's no purpose to a level pet in this. It's a low xp fight, anything that can survive it won't get jack for xp anyway

Dougula#1873

wrote on 2019-04-15 21:03:39

It was nerfed I believe just like most (all) of the other BFA Pet battles in patch 8.1* but being that this is listed as a leveling strat (pointless or not) it's still a valid question.

Foxwick wrote on 2019-01-06 13:02:59

Solo'ed this with just my Amber Moth H/S. Moth Dust on cooldown, Cocoon to avoid Whirlpool or Dive, Alpha Strike otherwise.

Scyre

wrote on 2019-01-06 11:18:58

I changed the TD Script to do a few things differently. If enemy #3 is less than 600 hp and TCH is still alive, swap to the level pet then to Ikky. If Ikky is out and hp is less than 600 then just do flock (two rounds will kill it). Also, on enemy #2 don't do hawk eye unless they are underwater. Seems to work better this way.

change(#2) [ !self(#2).played & self(#1).dead ]
change(#2) [ !self(#2).played & self(#1).active & enemy(#3).hp<600 ]
change(#3) [ self(#2).played ]

This did not work with a lvl 1 pet as Shelby has Tidal Wave, killing it .

Telepatra

wrote on 2018-08-15 12:05:42

Health needs to be over 290, as seen in the middle box under the leveling icon :) (as well as not being elemental, that'd need, what, >400?)

(OP) Lazey

wrote on 2018-08-16 15:25:33

Thanks, changed level to 3+ too. Not sure what is going into the Rematch Strings the page creates. For weak pets (elementals here vs. aquatic damage) you can always use a factor 1.5 for HP (50% more damage)

RameyMJ

wrote on 2018-11-13 02:23:53

The way I read this, you need 400+ HP for normal pets. More (about 600+) if your leveling pet is a Elemental. I just found out you can add these parameters in Rematch. Go to Tamer tab, right click tamer, select leveling preferences. 400 in min health, and Aquatic as expected damage (this gives Elemis +50% hp req, or 600 hp). GL

Remte

wrote on 2018-11-13 10:36:35

When you add a health requirement to Rematch, the minimum level requirement is redundant, so a strategy creator can choose to skip it… of course, what is displayed on the page might look counter‑intuitive that way!

Niv

I swapped Ikky for Darkmoon Zep with explode.

Jessail

wrote on 2018-08-17 01:42:55

The script is not working. The Teroclaw killed the first two enemies, got to a certain point on the third, and then just sat there (passing), while wave after wave was sent out killing leveling pet, etc (3 waves until i got enough, and manually killed it).

I see from the script description that he is supposed to just sit there until killed. That would probably require at least a level 10+ leveling pet (mine was level 7), it would easily have taken another wave or two to kill the Teroclaw.

monkaS wrote on 2018-08-25 03:26:32

same here, passing on last guy

DragonsAfterDark

wrote on 2018-08-17 07:01:24

I solo'd this fight with Enchanted Pen (1,1,1). It pretty much follows the strat above, but it was nice because the Pen takes weak damage from aquatic abilities.

Zarria wrote on 2018-08-23 06:20:17
